
Events Corner for October 2019
• Frankfurt Book Fair – October 16 – 18, 2019. The largest book fair in the world is around the corner, and Publishers Weekly will be there. Stop by to visit PW at Stand 6.0/D4.
You can get a head start by checking out the Frankfurt Preview issue (9/23/19 issue) and each day pick up your copy of the PW Frankfurt Show Daily, distributed at every booth and all entrances.

• Texas Book Festival – October 26 – 27, 2019. Come see John Grisham, Malcolm Gladwell and a host of bestselling authors at the Texas Book Festival. The festival is held in Austin in and around the State Capitol Building. The annual Lit Crawl takes place on Saturday, October 26, 2019, in East Austin. Be sure to read PW’s Texas Book Festival Spotlight (issue date September 30, 2019) to plan your time at this fun-filled festival, which is made for readers, book lovers and families—there are events for teens and kids alike.
• Sharjah International Book Fair – October 30 – November 9, 2019. The Publishers Conference runs October 27 – 29, 2019. The Sharjah Book Fair, celebrating its 38th anniversary this year, is known as “the gateway to the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.” Visit Publishers Weekly in the exhibitors’ area to pick up the PW Spotlight on Arab Publishing supplement, in English, at the fair.
Looking Ahead
• Miami Book Fair – November 17 – 24, 2019. Miami pulls out all the stops for its fall book fair, which includes a two-day street fair beginning November 22, 2019. The fair sees more than 200,000 attendees, so plot your visit with PW’s Miami Book Fair Spotlight feature, published in the October 14, 2019 issue.
• Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) – December 2 – 4, 2019. With more than 20,000 book publishing professionals and 2,000+ publishers in attendance, FIL is an important voice in the Americas and beyond. This year, the Guest of Honor is India. The fair takes place at the Fairgrounds in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. For the burgeoning Spanish-language publishing community in North America, FIL is a must-attend. Come by to see Publishers Weekly and pick up a copy of the most recent Books in Spanish Supplement. PW will be exhibiting with the American Collective Stand, # ÑÑ2.
• ALA Midwinter – January 24 – 28, 2020 in Philadelphia. The midwinter gathering of librarians, publishers and information content and technology companies is a relaxed affair, perfect for doing business, meeting librarians, giveaways and more. Come visit Publishers Weekly in the 1200 aisle at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. We look forward to seeing you there!
